In a rented home, first identify the source of the damp: with condensation, better ventilation and heating are often enough. For damp rising from the base of the wall, the permanent fix is applied to the wall itself: the old plaster is stripped, HydroFix damp-proofing plaster is applied and, once it has dried, the DampStop injection is carried out; this work usually needs the landlord’s consent, so check your local tenancy rules. The Damp Box (Nem Kutusu) does not replace this: it carries water reaching the foundations and rising in the columns back into the ground and, together with DampStop + HydroFix, is part of the triple system; it plugs into a socket and can move out with you. In a basement the Damp Box is not a solution on its own.
