Dryvatec L101 iLatex

A polymer latex admixture added to the mixing water to raise adhesion, flexibility and watertightness in cement-based mortars, screeds and repairs. Cement mortar is brittle by nature and bonds poorly to non-absorbent surfaces. The polymer admixture forms a continuous polymer film network within the hardening mortar matrix; this network bridges the voids between the cement crystals, making the mortar both more flexible and more adhesive. It is not used on its own — it is neither a waterproofing nor a repair material.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which dosage should I use?

5% — basic adhesion gain; standard surface repair and thick sections. 10% — flexibility and watertightness; surfaces beneath waterproofing. 20% — maximum bond; old or smooth concrete, ceilings and thin sections.

How is the admixture added?

First determine the total mixing water the mortar requires. Then subtract the calculated L101 dose from that amount — the total liquid must stay constant. Add L101 to the water first, stir until homogeneous, then add the powder. Adding the admixture straight to the dry powder prevents the polymer from dispersing evenly.

Can the total water be increased instead?

No. The admixture is subtracted from the water, not added on top of it. Otherwise the water/cement ratio is upset and strength drops.

Is a higher dose better?

No. Above 20% the setting time lengthens, strength development is delayed and cost rises for no benefit.

Can it be used after freezing?

No. Latex emulsions separate into phases after freezing and lose their function. Store above +5 °C.
