The first and only device manufactured in Türkiye using the electromagnetic drying technology applied in historic buildings across Europe for more than 40 years. Very-low-frequency waves reverse the orientation of the water molecules; the moisture in the wall is sent back into the ground by gravity and new moisture is prevented from rising. No chemicals, no demolition — plug it in and let it work. The scientific proof of how it works ↓
Our 3-minute introduction video (in Turkish) showing the device's working principle and a real installation.
Water molecules (H₂O) are electrically polar. The Damp Box makes use of this physical property.
The device emits very-low-frequency, harmless electromagnetic waves.
The electrical orientation of the water molecules inside the wall is reversed.
The water in the capillary channels is sent back into the ground by gravity; some of the salts are carried along with it.
As long as the device is running, no new moisture can rise; the wall stays permanently dry.
If what you are looking for is a portable appliance that pulls moisture out of the air, the Damp Box is not that product. The Damp Box is a fixed system that permanently stops the damp rising up your walls. See the difference in 30 seconds:
Air dryers such as Arçelik, Trotec, Meaco etc.
Electromagnetic rising damp system
Damp rising from the base of the wall is not just a cosmetic problem; left untreated, it wears down the structure, your comfort and your health. If you are experiencing any of the symptoms below, the source is most likely capillary rising damp.
Moisture climbing up from the ground keeps the base of the wall permanently wet; left unresolved, it turns into structural damage.
Paint on the wall surface blisters and peels; unless the source is cut off, recurring repainting costs cannot be avoided.
A damp environment breeds mould, leading to respiratory complaints, allergies and a persistent musty smell.
A damp wall absorbs heat; thermal insulation weakens and heating costs rise considerably.
Salts carried by the water crystallise on the surface (efflorescence); they push the plaster off, make it crumble and leave white stains.
Damp and mould trigger asthma, rheumatism and chronic respiratory complaints, reducing quality of life.
We understand your scepticism — this technology is new to Türkiye. But the physics behind it is not new: electro-osmosis has been a known phenomenon for 200 years, and electromagnetic wall drying has been used across Europe for more than 40 years in historic buildings, churches and museums.
Just as a sugar cube dipped in tea draws the liquid upwards, walls soak up water from the ground through the millions of capillary channels inside them. This is called rising damp, and it occurs in almost every building material, including concrete.
Every water molecule has a positive end and a negative end. In the capillary channels this electrical attraction lets water climb against gravity — just like a magnet lifting a paper clip.
The device emits a signal even weaker than a radio wave. This signal turns the water molecules around; the attraction breaks down and the water can no longer climb. Gravity wins — the water sinks back into the ground.
The moisture already in the wall drains into the ground over the following months and evaporates. As long as the device stays plugged in, no new water can rise. With a moisture meter you can measure the drop yourself every month.
In porous building materials, surface tension draws water upwards through capillary channels (Jurin's law). The narrower the channel, the higher the rise: in a capillary 0.1 mm in diameter, water can theoretically climb ~1.4 m. This is why the damp line can reach 1-2 m in old, un-damp-proofed buildings. Dissolved salts carried along with the water (saltpetre) crystallise on the wall surface, blowing plaster and paint off.
An electrical double layer forms between the capillary walls and the water (zeta potential): mineral surfaces become negatively charged and the positive ions in the water line up along the wall surface. This potential difference produces an electro-osmotic flow that carries the polar H₂O molecules up the channel. Rising damp is therefore not merely mechanical but an electrokinetic phenomenon — known since 1809 (Reuss's experiments).
The Damp Box emits a very-low-frequency (VLF) electromagnetic field that penetrates the wall mass. This field alters the charge balance at the capillary interface and the orientation of the H₂O dipoles, reversing the direction of the electro-osmotic flow. With the transport engine stopped, gravity becomes the dominant force: the water drains down the capillary channels into the ground. The strength of the emitted field is below the microtesla range — many times weaker than a Wi-Fi router or a mobile phone — which is why it passes CE testing without issue.
From installation onwards, the moisture levels at the base of the wall are tracked with a carbide/dielectric moisture meter. The typical course: the damp line recedes within the first weeks, a marked drop within 3-6 months, and complete drying in 6-12 months depending on wall thickness. Once the wall has dried, the salts are brushed off and the surface is finished with breathable plaster/paint. Systems working on the same principle have been in documented use in historic public buildings and churches across Europe for 40+ years.
The same technology has been applied in tens of thousands of structures — historic buildings and museums in Austria, Italy and France.
Trust numbers, not words: wall moisture levels are measured at installation and afterwards, and you see the drop in a report.
